My love of animals started at birth when I was introduced to our family German Shepherd, Dusty, and black cat, Tig.
By the time I was six, we also had a budgie called Sparky, a stick insect called Fred, rabbits Topsy and Turvey and six chickens.
The next few years brought us rescue dogs Benji, an Afghan x Irish Wolfhound, and Digby and Sheena, both Collie x Spaniels that I consider to be the dogs that I grew up with.
At nine, I started sharing my first pony Folly, and at twelve I was given my horse and childhood true love, Dusty – named after my first dog – who I visited twice a day for 10 years.
Careerwise, after time spent working in offices, hospitals, as cabin crew and with the police, I heard the call of the wild and in 2012 left Wimbledon for Africa!
I worked as a Senior Field Guide in Safari Lodges across Southern Africa, spending much of my time around the mighty Kruger National Park, also teaching aspiring guides how to safely conduct Big 5 Safaris.
I used my extensive knowledge of animal behaviour and body language to keep both clients and animals safe, in vehicles and on foot, and I have hundreds of five-star reviews.
When Covid hit, I left the Lodges and found myself fostering a street dog, Sacha. Living with her and her various challenges including excessive barking, reactivity, hyper-vigilance, food allergies and an inability to relax, prompted me to begin studying animal behaviour.
I qualified as an animal behaviourist with COAPE (The Centre of Applied Pet Ethology) and am now a full-time behaviourist, focused on helping dog owners and their pets to enjoy every moment together.
I love what I do and would love to help you!
